Sad sad day - Steve Irwin killed
I received news this afternoon about Steve Irwin’s death and I can’t help but make a blog post to honour his contributions.
If you do not already know, Steve Irwin died this morning (Sept 4, 2006) while filming a documentary in Northern Australia after being struck by a stingray’s barb.
According to news.com.au, Mr Stanton said that Steve was struck in the chest by the stingray’s barb when he “gone over” it. The barb penetrated his chest and pierced his heart. Dr Ed O’Loughlin, who was aboard the Emergency Management Queensland Helicopter, said that “there’s nothing could be done to save him”.
Steve have contributed enormously to the conservation of wildlife. He had so much to do, but so little time. His death is a tragic loss not only to his family, but to Australia as well as millions of fans around the world.
